♾️ Sat Chit Ananda
Being – Consciousness – Beatitude
I am that which is.
I know that I am.
I rejoice in being.
This sacred triad expresses the indivisible nature of Brahman — the Absolute — in Vedantic thought.
- Sat (सत्): pure being, eternal existence
- Chit (चित्): consciousness, awareness without object
- Ananda (आनन्द): beatitude, the innate joy of such knowing
Together, Sat Chit Ananda points to the felt essence of the Self (Ātman) and the nature of all Reality. It is not a list of attributes, but a single pulse of realization — experienced directly when all division dissolves.
This phrase is rooted in the Taittirīya Upaniṣad and illumines the highest state of nondual awareness, where being, knowing, and joy are one.
It is not pleasure.
It is not bliss.
It is the unmoving joy of what always already is.
